RE: Eibos Cyclops Dryer / Erurs Vacuum Pump Review
What happens if you block the fan from spinning? Does the heating element switch off ?
RE: Eibos Cyclops Dryer / Erurs Vacuum Pump Review
Heating element switches off when the temp sensor has hit the desired temperature - the temp sensor is inside the chamber. Even if you unplug the fan, the heating element will continue to heat, and heat rises, so it’s still coming out of the same vents, although not being blown out of course.
This would have been great if the vents routed the heat up the sides of the filament, so the entire chamber heats up evenly rather than from the bottom of the filament spool up. There is another video on YouTube where someone used a piece of tin to try to re-route the heat and cover the bottom of the filament spools - will see if I can find it!….

So without airflow the heating element would get much much hotter and not switch off by itself or at least limit its temperature ?
There is always a possibility that these cheap fans might fail or fan rotation get blocked.
This is like putting two filament spools above a toaster...
Once i have seen live a bathroom fan heater catch fire because its fan stopped rotation. Since then i am a bit sensitized.
