RE: DHL works in mysterious ways...

So I ordered and chose DHL this time. Products alone costed US$96.87 and shipping US$21.35 (Prusa's system quoted a bit over US$300 if sent by FedEx!). So I paid a total of US$118.22. Now I got an email from DHL asking me to pay CAD$34.98 (US$ 27.6). Tax here is 13%. Called DHL and they said that if buying over $20, I have to pay 2.5% service fee for brokerage. She then said that if I don't want to pay, I have to arrange my own broker to do the paperwork to clear customs. In the past when buying from Prusa or other companies outside Canada, FedEx also charged for tax and such brokerage fee. So in the USA, users do not have to pay for such brokerage service fee?

For my location (Northwest Ohio, USA), DHL is fantastic!

There's nothing like ordering on Day 1 and having the product you ordered on Day 4.  Halfway around the planet in 3 days, can't beat it.  🙂  And I've never seen any 'brokerage service fee'.  I pick my filament, choose DHL, complete the order, done.

Same, DHL is the best preforming delivery we have, and my packages don't look like they played soccer with them when they get here, even our dogs like them. 😉

Excellent customer service?

Ordered a Mk3S+ last week. Arrived by FedEx two days later.

Ordered some spools of filament. Sent by DHL Express. I'm near Boston. From Prague the package went to Leipzig then to New York City. Hey, it's going to be here next day! Only 200 miles. But no....

From NYC it was shipped to Miami -- a whopping 1300 miles. From Miami, next stop was -- yes, good guess, it was NOT Boston -- Cincinnati (1150 miles).

Now it's supposed to be another 4 days until arrival. From Cincinnati to Boston -- 880 miles. So I guess, what, are they first shipping it to Seattle, then Dallas, San Diego and finally here...

Oh well. Makes me wonder what the "Express" in DHL Express means....
