DHL works in mysterious ways...
Ordered a Mk3S+ last week. Arrived by FedEx two days later.
Ordered some spools of filament. Sent by DHL Express. I'm near Boston. From Prague the package went to Leipzig then to New York City. Hey, it's going to be here next day! Only 200 miles. But no....
From NYC it was shipped to Miami -- a whopping 1300 miles. From Miami, next stop was -- yes, good guess, it was NOT Boston -- Cincinnati (1150 miles).
Now it's supposed to be another 4 days until arrival. From Cincinnati to Boston -- 880 miles. So I guess, what, are they first shipping it to Seattle, then Dallas, San Diego and finally here...
Oh well. Makes me wonder what the "Express" in DHL Express means....

odd shipping
I have had similar results for packaches by USPS, DHL, UPS, and FEDEX. It is a head scratcher.

Package needed a Tan maybe?
@fuchsr
That sounds like a trip I had a travel agent book for me to Cozumel Mexico, the flight left San Fransisco then they flew me to (cooled ass) Detroit for a layover then to Mexico, 🤔 I still can't figure out how that was cheaper for them. Maybe your package from Prague needed a Tan before you receive it.
DHL delivery to me has been great though, I normally get my packages early from them. Hmmm maybe I should take DHL to Mexico next time.

Well, atleast FEDEX won’t give you diarrhea. Travel might.

Dry
It's an extra service, they are drying your filament for you !
Having problems with bed adhesion every morning...
FedX package
At least coming DHL it doesn’t look like they played soccer with it using a forklift! Last FedX package I got did, I pay the extra dollar or two to insure it arrives still inside the packing.

UPS Also
@larry-tener
Yeah, I get that a lot from UPS also looks like they played hockey with it. so far so good for DHL and I.

DHL Speedy...
My new Mini+ arrived a day early, so kudos to DHL for a good job getting the filament and printer boxes shipped to be really quickly. I wonder if myself paying the import duty (£75) within an hour of teh notification text helped?
The driver was very interested in the package - the box arrives unwrapped (should there be a Xmas wrapping option?) and asked if I was printing figurines. Turned out he was driving to make ends meet after being made redundant from O&G.
Anyway - everything worked perfectly and I was very happy with Prusa Manufacturing and DHL Delivery to Scotland.

It is interesting how drivers recognize their packaging. In the US a few of the DHL guys delivered so many of the black wrapped boxes that they began asking what I printed as well as several of the other local guys. The black plastic became almost iconic.

The more disappointing that yesterday's delivery of filament didn't have the black wrapper but came in a bland standard box!

Black wrapper
I think they stopped the black wrapper. The last 4-5 have nit had that for me.

the last FedEx box I received did not arrive intact
At the very least, it doesn't appear that DHL used a forklift to play soccer with it! Because the last FedEx box I received did not arrive intact, I spend an extra $1 or two to ensure it comes intact.
pride
I hate when that happens. Some employees do not have pride in their job. I personally think that companies and employees should treat deliveries with a white glove approach.

Between DHL and FedEx, which is better to use to ship to North America? For the past two orders, Prusa had my stuffs ready to be picked up but FedEx did not go there to pick up until two days later. For example, order ready for FedEx to pick up on Monday morning. They did not go there to pick up until Wednesday afternoon. Then, weekend came. Ended up waiting for over a week even paid to be delivered in 2-3 days.
DHL!!
That is the reason I always pay a couple dollars more for DHL!

Does DHL charge for paperwork fee when going through customs?
DHL
Not that I am aware of and I have had several shipments from Prusa.
