buy MK3s with or without MMU2S
i have had a 3d printer for near 2 years now, a CR10 pro, and it has always been a bit tricky with bed leveling, upgraded to a glassplate, and a microswiss hotend. but i am tired of having to fiddle everytime i want to start a print..
and really don´t want to invest more into it with new probing, as an example, so looking into just buying a MK3S, just to get something that seems stable. i know we use ultimakers in bundles at work, but that is just to pricy, and with the "locked" enviroment, it is quite expensive.
just curious, the MMU2S, would you buy the printer with it to start with?
and if so, is there any guide to assembling the Mk3S with the MMU2S from new, or is it just a rebuild guide, so i have to fully assemble the MK3S then take some elements apart, then assemble with the MMU2S?
or would you fully keep away from the MMU2S, seems there are "different" opinions, both most issues seems to be towards the MK2.5S or with the issue of the PTEG tube being to tight around the fillament for stable retraction.?
RE: buy MK3s with or without MMU2S
Unless you really need multi color, then I would just get a MK3S. I just came from a CR-10S for the same reason as you. I don't mind a little fiddling with the printer, but I was spending more time 'maintaining' my CR10 than printing with it. I've only has my MK3S for a few weeks, but I totally love it. I spent time carefully assembling it and only had a couple of minor problems getting it through the initial calibration routines. I can now print, print, print. The filament change actually works great, the mesh bed leveling is great and fast, and the 24V heats up very quick. I am more than satisfied with this printer. The PrusaSlicer settings are pretty nice, too.

rasmusdc, I have had a Mk3 for over a year, upgraded to 3s with mmu2s - now disconnected mmu2s - if you want to print stuff reliably then I give the mk3s 10/10 - the mmu2s 5/10 even after some mods of the feed to the mmu2s it still needed much fiddling and intervention - due to covid my 3s is printing 20hrs a day for last week - still printing away - the little printer that could. My advice is to go for the 3s get used to it then add a mmu2s (or it's upgrade so that it works consitentily out of box) should you still feel the need - but your decision based on your needs.

RE: buy MK3s with or without MMU2S
I would buy the MK3s now and learn how it works. I would wait at least 6 months after you get the printer working perfectly before buying the MMU2s. My MMK3s/MMU2s works great. However, it takes having a well working printer and really good filament profiles to get good results with it. You also need to realize that it takes some work / troubleshooting time to get the MMU2s working. Try to rush it and you will end up using it as a doorstop. The changes needed to relocate the filament sensor isn't that hard or time consuming to do.
