Best match to old silver PLA?
The silver PLA filament that was in my MK3S box is getting low and I'm looking to get some more. Except it's not sold any more - It's the +/-0.05mm tolerance stuff right at the bottom of my shop screen. My immediate thought would be to replace it with the +/-0.02mm tolerance galaxy silver Prusament PLA (silver to galaxy silver, it's the obvious answer) but there is also pearl Prusament PLA which looks very similar and seeing as all three are technically different products I wonder whether the formulations might be different enough for pearl to be closer in appearance. Does anyone know what's the best match?
RE: Best match to old silver PLA?
The best match would be more of the same thing. What Prusa sells rebranded as "Prusa" filament is actually from Filament PM here. Only the "Prusament" is made by Prusa.
I have not used the Prusament Pearl Mouse so I don't know how much of a color match it is to the Prusa Silver. I have, however, used the Prusament Galaxy Silver and it is a nice filament. It is a lighter shade than the Prusa Silver, and it has silver flecks in it (the flecks are common to all the Prusament Galaxy colors).
So, while the Prusament Galaxy Silver isn't a direct color match to the Prusa Silver, I do like it as a different filament.

It's not discontinued then - That's good to know. I need to get something of a good colour match for what I'm making (it's a bit big) so I'll probably try for more of the same just this once, but the flecked effect sounds interesting for other projects.
