True, I didn't explain it well enough.
What I mean that inside the camera there may be a loose cable between the camera board and the rest of the electronics that is inside it. so you could try to disassemble it to fix it (and assemble it back).

I suggest reporting it to Prusa, because it should return normal colors, no overlayed ones at all.

It is a Buddy camera supplied by Prusa it connects directly to a USB socket there is no ribbon or pins.

Cyan overlay sounds like a cable ribbon not properly set in the socket and some pins not contacting.

One option is to try to fix it yourself. Another is to request a warranty repair.

My buddy camera has a horrible cyan cast all over the photo in natural light. I would have thought Prusa could have done better than this when selecting a camera for a very expensive printer.

And no possibility to do timelaps-videos?

Yes, it is very basic (no Timelapse or live stream). But suits me as plug and play for a very reasonable price. Prusa has announced more features to come directly from Connect, so works for me 😊

A few months ago I added esp32 cams to all my printers. I found them to be very unreliable, going offline all the time requiring a reboot. Plus it's only snapshots in PrusaConnect, not live streams. And with the mega monster fan of the Mk4S, the placement that worked well on the Mk4 is now unusable. I'm actually going back to the Wyze cams I used before and will be removing the ESP32's. Only downside is I need to open a separate app but will have a live streams, all the time.

So, the only adavantage is, that you can see the picture in prusa connect.

I think I will stay with my "standard" security cam (e.g. tapo). --> life stream, night vision, motor driven movement. Only thing is, it´s not inside prusa connect.

The XL has a USB-C port on the system board that should power the camera.

I've used that port for serial com, but it does not provide power.
