Band name "NEAT" PLA Filament

I picked up a spool of Neat Pla Filament from https://3dprintingcanada.com/collections/premium-pla/products/skin-colour-1-75mm-neat-filaments-premium-pla-1-kg

For some strange reason its the only type of pla that I have used that is giving me a hard time, ones its down it's fine and will print as a normal pla would. but what I had to do to start was change the starting temps to 230 at the nozzle, 60 at bed, fan turned on at first layer helps with the quick zig zag supports, even slowing it down it would clump up.

I use slic3r prusa addition on all my prints. one last detail I messured it's diameter and got 1.72-1.77mm. same numbers as other brands I use.

thanks in advance.

What is the temperature range shown on the label? This sounds like a good reinforcement of the 'rule' to make a temperature tower your first print for any roll of new filament.

I read your post yesterday, and didn't have anything to suggest. I then loaded up a spool of PrintedSolid marble PLA that arrived on my doorstep. I was having a miserable time with it until I raised my 1st layer temp to 225 and lowered max volumetric speed to 8. Now I can print with it reliably.

I just re-read your post and realized you're using very similar settings for the NEAT PLA.

Hi Bill, The temperature range on the lable is 190-230c I just find it odd that first print I had to max out its temp range. but so far its working, a temperature range tower would be a nice test never thought of that, but my guess it would be more of a landscape print.

.15 layer height 16 hrs later mange to print had to slow the speed down to 47 % then forgot to raise it back up to 100 after the first layer. but still happy it got it done. this part is from bpitanga https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2961384 .

I'm glad this scenario helped you out.

RE: Band name "NEAT" PLA Filament

Sorry for the necro-post. I was looking for more information on this brand and it's rather odd that it doesn't have a website of its own and is sold only by the one vendor. It makes me wonder whether it is a rebrand of something else?

In any case, I bought 1.75mm transparent 'Aqua' PLA and had the worst time with extruder gears skipping and clicking until I cranked it up to 250C (!).

Liked the wind on the spool, the colour is nice, but the actual working temperature really is completely off from their recommended range. Is there a way to tell whether this is really PLA? Or perhaps alternatively PETG?

(Addendum: I did find their website just now, not sure why it wasn't showing up previously.)

You might want to print a temp tower that starts at a high temp and works lower temps at higher layers. That will let you identify the lowest tactical temp. I read up on that stuff and I'm not impressed. Might be easiest to avoid it. You could contact the seller for ideas.

@bobstro

Yeah, for most of my other filaments, sticking around 200C has seemed ideal - until now. I tried lower - extrusion stopped entirely and behaved like a clog, where no clog existed. 250C came after finding it still failed extruding at 230C, which would normally be my limit for PLA. Even dropping temps later in the print didn't really seem to help, as the clicking and skipping returned.
