Artifact help
I have an artifact that has me stumped. I just realized that this is happening on all my prints and suspect that it is over-extrusion. I'd really like to have a better understanding of the "why" rather than the "fix." I don't have any good pics yet, but I think it's easy enough to describe.
I'm currently printing the z-axis parts for my old Mk2 in petg and the artifact is occurring there. Parts being printed look good, generally and the 20mm cube is within 1% accurate. Basically, any vertical wall will develop an overhang of 0.5mm anywhere the layer footprint transitions from wide to a narrow wall. Sorta like banding or z-shift but directly related to this transition. Interestingly, I just noticed that my Prusa factory z-motor mounts ALSO have this artifact, though not quite so pronounced.
When my printer finishes the current print, I'm going to design an l-shaped test to see if I can replicate it and fix it by tweaking the flow.

More than 20 pages of more or less interesting reading -- but no clear solution.

Excellent! Finding the right search term is half the battle! Looks like "buldge" is exactly my problem. I love how the misspelling works to my favor for it!!
