3.12.0=BETA1 and Revo 6 Extruder - THERMAL ANOMALY

Hi - Upgraded my MK3S+ to 3.12.0 BETA1 and tried to calibrate using M310 A F1 as per instructions on GiHub.  The calibration routine fails within a second or two with a message "THERMAL ANOMALY". At this point I am just reporting this in the forum. My opinion is that the heating process is so fast with a Revo 6 that the calibration process is detecting it as an anomaly. From 29 C the temp jumps to almost 50-55C in just two to three seconds and the error halts the process.  Will wait for a fix.

Note: I did perform a PID calibration from the menu option before trying it, just for good measure.

Keep up the good work Prusa Team!!!

Did you get help for this? I just added a Bond Tech extruder, and I can't get my heat to work. I have tried everything I can think of minus, purchasing a new Einsy board.

FYI:  Prusa i3 Revo Six  HotEnd upgrade is not compatible with new Firmware 3.12.x. if you have a Revo Six  HotEnd need to stay with Firmware 3.11.0 for now. Tech support is aware of this and is look into issue. Tech support said Firmware 3.12.x was setup for stock hotends.

firmware upgrade for revo 6? Already tried the 3.12. Heat anomaly stops me in my tracks.

Already flashed...  same issue with Revo 6.  Can we go back to earlier firmware?   Spent over an hour with techs on chat yesterday, didn't think about mentioning revo...

You can without any problems flash back to firmware version 3.11.0.
I tried the update to 3.12.1 also and it didn't work with my Revo Six.
After that i flashed 3.11.0 back without any problem.
The only ting i had to do after flashing back was calibrate the Mesh Bed Leveling again.

FYI:  Any Firmware after 3.11.0 does not work if you have a Revo Six  HotEnd need to stay with Firmware 3.11.0. I have tried them all just reflash back to 3.11.0. you will be fine. Also remove this line from Custom G-Code "M115 U3.12.1 ; tell printer latest fw version" if you want your printer to stop beeping at the being of each print, need to save file to new name like "Original Prusa i3 MK3S & MK3S+ v3.11.0", for your new default printer.

Firmware 3.12.2 was supposed to fix this. It didn't. Why again did we need "thermal calibration?"

RE:

Update on E3D Revo (MK3/MK3S/MK3S+)

We would like to thank all of the community members who provided their TM calibration logs with the E3D REVO! This really helped to improve the TM development for PTC/REVO hotends.

I interpreted them saying they "improved" the "PTC/REVO hotends" as FIXING THE ISSUE.  They obviously haven't.  Is fixing this REALLY that difficult??

Again, what problem was the "thermal calibration" addressing?  Was there a glaring problem we didn't know about that it addresses?  3.11 seems to work great with no adjustments.  Just saying, maybe instead of Prusa spending time and resources with this, maybe they should using resources to create better printers instead of breaking 5 year old models that work just fine.

I've just tried firmware 3.12.2 and can't get it to calibrate. It fails on the refining C est. stage. Yeah, it is improved but is Not Fixed.

Prusa has nothing TO fix (with regard to the Revo not working with 3.12.x, I'm not saying they, or their printers, or their firmware doesn't have flaws).  Nobody broke your printer but you.  The fact that they are working on making their new firmware work with modified printers is going above and beyond.

RE:

Who said their printer is broke, Revo 6 hotend is a great upgrade we are just discussing that we had no firmware issues prior to 3.12.0, until Prusa added a new upgrade to the firmware “Calibrate the temp model on your printer”.  Nobodies’ printer is broken we are just discussing if Prusa, E3D and other end-users are aware of this issue and what is the Fix. If you read above, you will see there is a work around. Long story short; E3D and Prusa Research do not have to fix the firmware but there going above and beyond by starting a task force to work on the Thermal Model for PTC/Revo hotends. E3D and Prusa Research both asked for end users error logs to investigate this issue. We are wondering where they're at in the process. Some thought 3.12.2 was the fix but was not.

RE: 3.12.0=BETA1 and Revo 6 Extruder - THERMAL ANOMALY

The solution is just use 3.11 firmware which works perfectly.  After 5+ years of firmware tweaks, the printer works great, and I really don't need any "new features" at this point, unless its LIDAR bed leveling, carbon rods, or a multi-material adapter that really works, but I digress.
