WIP: Andor at Narkina5
Hopefully it's ok to post work-in-progress stuff here too.
Been working on this model in the last few weeks, it's getting pretty close to being finished and soon I'll need to start doing more test prints. I don't have an SLA printer, so we'll see what the MK3S+ can deliver. Did a test print of the head in two different sizes and pretty happy with the bigger one. No sanding or post-process done on it, and it looks pretty good already. Printed with the basic 0.4 nozzle, but going to do the final print with a 0.25 nozzle (maybe not for the body, but for the head/feet/hands/blaster atleast). There's some mess caused by supports as this first test print had really badly modelled hair, I think with the new haircut I'll be able to print it with much fewer supports.
Model done in zbrush and Blender. Started work in Zbrush, but I kinda (/with a fiery passion) hate the UI, so moved back to Blender which I'm more familiar with. More of my modelling work can be seen over at instagram on @production_iel (and in the future via youtube at the same account name). I've been modelling for a while and now pretty excited start printing more of what I've done. I know SLA would be better for printing miniatures and statues, but I'm confident that with some effort, I'll be able to do stuff that'll look decent on an FDM printer as well.
Any tips or tricks for printing this one will be appreciated, I'll post more photos as I go along.
PS. If you haven't seen Andor yet, go see it. It's the best Star Wars has been since Empire Strikes Back.
