Fully printed quadcopter frame + video of building/flying/crashing
Hi,
I wanted to build a racing quadcopter for a really long time and it finally happened, thanks to Prusa i3 mk2 as well 😉
Here's build video including testing various materials, flying and first crash that prooved the durability of the print (nothing broke):
It's printed with 100% infill PETG, yeah I know 100% is crazy, but I tried 25%, 50% and 100% and there was significant difference in strength, so I figured it's well worth the few extra grams.
Also the whole build was under $150 I sourced most of the parts from Cina eshops (alliexpres...). If you plan to build one, do NOT buy extra cheap motors, ESCs from china, it's not worth it. It flies and everything, but the build quallity is terrible and I will replace them all as soon as one of them breaks.
Battery and some other parts were sourced from this store in Czech rep, they have some really well priced parts: http://www.rotorama.cz/ (can I link this? I'm not connected to the store in any way, but feel free to delete this link if you don't like store links here)
