RE: First kilometer in my 3d print journey
Hey man, thank you 🙂
Your file size depends on the amount of polygons you have. I use the Decimation Master plugin at it's default value of 20% (meaning you'll have 20% of your original polycount), and then decrease it to 10% or even 5% depending of the amount of surface detail I want to keep. Normally the files are between 30 - 70 mbytes.

This is still a WIP human skull. The anatomy needs some more tweaking in some areas and more asymmetry. Pleased with the results so far, though the print test revealed several very thin areas which need to be fixed. When it's complete I'll share it if there's any interest.

Thinking Halloween - mounted atop a mannequin instead of a horned devil mask... or maybe a few scattered around with my "bone" collection I put out in the yard. Now just need some ribs and femurs to go along with it. Maybe a reprint of the dino bones for the T-Rex ...
I like it!

This work is fantastic! The quality and detail of your models is outstanding.
I wish I could design like this. You have a rare talent, sir.
I have my fingers crossed you'll hit the rewards soon.
Excellent.

@thomas-k20
Thank you very much, thomas, much appreciated!
Or should I say danke schön;)
I have published the first version of my skull model here if someone wants to have a go at it https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/16880-skull-version-10
Despite the thin areas in the model it prints fine even with the cheapest filament. I have an improved version with more realistic features but it still needs work before publishing.

Don't be a stranger here. We are looking forward to seeing what you do with the SL1!

Thanks robert and lichtjaeger, much appreciated!
I'm a bit lazy these winter days to finish anything, but I got more stuff coming up to be shared with you(i mean files) - though most of the stuff requires supports.
