dan's projects
Just finished up my version of the open rc truggy.
i re-made a lot of the parts to fit my off the shelf components and redesigned parts to fix problems with the original design.
basically it was my first real exercise in making a large project with my mk2s and learning the software and materials.
it isn't perfect by far but i learned a lot
i decided not to 3d print the body nor the shocks and just use what i had in my junk piles.
so the body, shocks and hardware are all not 3d printed. tires are 3d printed.
used, ABS, PLA, Nylon 910, and Ninjaflex.
video of the first drive with many parts not finished yet and spare junk used to get it moving.

Re: dan's projects
Very nice prints and designs Dan.
I have to ask. Why are the front air foils different left and right?

Re: dan's projects
photobucket just died for the entire world..
maybe it was the angle of the photo, but the airfoil is the same left and right.

Re: dan's projects
i've had to start all over with my photos thanks to photobucket
i guess i cannot go back and make edits to fix the dead links
so
i took Daniel Noree files and i added my own changes to them.
for the f1 i redesigned the servo saver.
the truggy i changed the A-arms myself mixed up parts from different authors and make some of my own parts for improvements to the original design
i made my own .6 mod spur gear and lowered the gear ratio to 10:1
eliminated the bumpsteer issue and add a 3 degree rear toe-in for better stability.
some newer video

Re: dan's projects
trying to fix up some missing pics.
the tires are 3d printed on both of these from ninjaflex.
The red truggy is ABS, Ninjaflex and Nylon 910
the F1 blue/white/black is mostly PLA, and ninjaflex for the tires, and i made a few nylon 910 parts that are my own design.
the pla and ABS is hatchbox. the Nylon is Taulman
video of the monster truck running
the monster truck was all PLA and then i broke the axles so i made the new ones from 910 Nylon.
the tires i didn't 3d print because it would take 40 hours per tire to complete 160 hours total.
