Colored prints with PLA + Sharpie marker
When I was researching 3D printers I came across this article: http://www.desiquintans.com that describes a process for coloring filament with Sharpie markers. I've finally put this Sharpie hack to the test with my Original i3 Kit. I'm working on a model of a character from My Little Pony to give my daughter. Though it's not entirely complete yet, I'm too excited to not share the results:
[UPDATE] Credit where credit is due, the beautifully designed model is from: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:630749
There is an issue I've noticed where the initial few layers end up darker than the rest. I think that's from the filament that's manually pushed through the ink having a thicker coating than the filament that's pulled through by the extruder.
Otherwise, I'm very happy with how this has been working. Has anyone else tried this method?

Thanks for sharing that. It looks really nice. I did not even know such a thing was possible.
