Maybe you want proof people do not stay 6 feet apart.
I have no idea what you want proof of, not saying and then being mad at not getting it is quite silly.

Once again, I asked first, but obviously you have a reading problem.
Social distancing:
There is plenty of evidence over 100 years since the influenza epidemic.

Cloth masks:

I'm personally don’t care what people wear as long as they stay the heck away from me.

You will wear a mask forever, then, right?
How long we wear mask? This depends fully on peoples like you when they start to realize that wearing mask (and social distancing) is important to fight against COVID. So we ask you to help in fighting against COVID as everybody is trying.
Also I didn't tell about wearing cloth mask, when did I do this assumption? I'm wearing FFP2-Mask. So stop trolling by throwing random claims without proofs please.
RE: Which Mask is Better to Protect Covid-19 Virus
@cybrsage
I think I may get the point you are trying to make, however I don't think you can compare Covid with for example the Flu, yes flu kills many people each year, but a recent study showed that the death rate among COVID-19 patients with an average age of 69 was around 18.5%, while it was 5.3% for those with the flu, and that is the massive difference, they came to the conclusion that you are 5 times more likely to die of covid than flu, also the long term lasting effects on the heart , lungs and other side effects from Covid are very nasty.
As I said earlier, a mask is only effective if it fits you well, you could have the best mask on the planet, 3 layer medical, N99 or a full respirator, but if it doesn't fit you, or are not fitted correctly, you would be as well wearing a pair of socks on your face.
Cloth masks do offer some level of protection, both for the wearer and for others, but only if they fit you properly, granted not as much as n95/n99, but as Chuck very correctly stated earlier try wearing one of those for 8 hours a day at work.
Many people wear a mask as a fashion accessory, and I would agree with you completely that in this respect, many masks are not fit for purpose.
They do not care how well it fits, just as long as it matches their top and shoes.
Tank you very much!

I don’t have to get mad at someone that gets in my space. I just inform them I just got off work and I work in a COVID ward. They scurry away.

My facility ahs over 2500 employees. We have had an over 40% reduction in worker absenteeism and nearly 80% reduction due to repiratory illnesses. We have had zero Influenza infection in out 58K benficiary population and less than 200 postive test for COVID. We insituted a mask madate at work and social distancing last April.
I will wear a mask in influenza season every year.

[...] I will wear a mask in influenza season every year.
If nothing else, this may have finally gotten the message through to western cultures and taken some of the stigma away from putting on aask when in high-risk situations for wearer and others. "That guy" asked if we'd wear a mask forever. Not forever, but certainly whenever going forward. After a year of economic disaster and crappy home haircuts, I'm no longer worried about what strangers think if I wear a mask during a flu outbreak.

Very true
In the past, certain cultures wearing masks was always looked upon as a little strange. After the world gets back to normal I certainly will be considering wearing masks in certain situations, especially if I ever manage to go an a foreign holiday again and venture onto a plane.
Although I must say, I have got pretty good at cutting my own hair exactly the same as my hairdresser, bought a good pair of clippers and have never looked back. But I don't have to go out very much, so if it goes wrong I can hide!!

I thought giving myself the "COVID Clip" would take minutes. It takes hours and it's ways uneven!
For those trying to claim the Karens are always pro-mask:

When stationed in South Korea many years ago I thought it strange when the people there wore masks. When I questioned a Korean officer, he told me that when they caught the flu or anything that could infect others they wore their mask as an act of solidarity.
I'll probably wear a mask in the future, when this has passed, in the same way that they did then, that is whenever I could infect others. My freedom and liberty stops wherever it effects others, just respect, simple respect.
Stay safe and healthy, Phil
RE: Which Mask is Better to Protect Covid-19 Virus
I had always considered wearing a mask in the past (before Covid), but I suppose stupid male pride always stopped me from doing so.
Most probably there are a lot of others who have felt the same, have looked at other cultures and thought it was a good idea, but sticking out from the crowd, not so much.

I am guilty of stupid, misguided pride on this count as well. In a way, we got lucky with COVID-19. While it's terrible, it could have been so much worse. If we don't learn from our history, we're likely to repeat it. In this case, repetition goes hand-in-hand with death and suffering. I'm going to keep some masks in my travel bag from now on. I think that "act of solidarity" should be the norm. Fine if you don't agree, but don't give me a hard time about it if you don't want my opinion right back.
Boy, the forum software really screwed up that picture. Yikes.

Lets just hope that we can get an end to Covid soon, and learn from our mistakes.
Unfortunately though, mankind does not do so well in learning from mistakes, but if this makes even 1 in 5 change habits for the better then all this suffering and financial hardship will not have been a complete waste of time.
I really need to get back to work soon before I spend all my money on 3D printers and HiFi, get high cholesterol and become an alcoholic 😉

Huge mistakes. I am concerned about our culture. I have noticed a severe lack of deference for expertise. In my line of work, I have had a number of folks argure with professional decision makings even when the evidence is clear that something is not needed. We need to value the professional expertise,

We did which is why the CDC has precedence over your view.
As a culture, we also need to be kind to people and not verbally attack those who do not agree with us, or who are doing something we personally do not want to do.
Do you agree with this? If not, why not?
RE: Which Mask is Better to Protect Covid-19 Virus
@pcweber
Your choice, and I happily applaud you choosing to do as you feel is right.
Anyone who feels masks must be used to save lives has to wear them from here on else else they are not being intellectually consistent.
The big issue is when people verbally attack others for daring to live their lives differently. Those Karens must be denounced soundly by all. Hate should never be tolerated.
RE: Which Mask is Better to Protect Covid-19 Virus
@bobstro
So you do not care about saving lives as you claim, since you will purposefully infect others in the future by not wearing a mask as you demand others do right now.
Is it a double standard or hypocrisy that fuels this view of yours?
I also noticed you refused to condemn people who verbally attack others for daring to not wear a mask. This implies yoi support such hate. Clarify of you denounce these acts or if you support them, for currently you appear to support the hate.
And yes, Karens are on both side, and both are wring, though yoi appear to not agree.

Well everyone who not live in Austria at the current time could feel fine. Our Gov. is driving insane!
Its way beyond the question Mask or no Mask. When even the WHO say its not good...
