RE: Which Mask is Better to Protect Covid-19 Virus

Most of the time it was probably real bad being stuck down in a dungeon. But some days, when there was a bad storm outside, you'd look out your little window and think, ""Boy, I'm glad I'm not out in that.

My grandfather used to do the same thing, but I think it had something to do with the fish.

Stay safe and healthy, Phil

Depend where it hit your Face.

Whoever showed you how to clap was mean to you.  You should stop slapping your face to clap, it is not done that way.

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

To answer the OP's question, the best mask to use is a supplied-air resporator (SAR).  It has an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 1,000.  This is compared to air purifying respirator (APR) which has an APF of merely 10.

Air will always leak into even a fitted APR to to it operating through negative pressure. A SAR operates on positive pressure, so even a not well fitted one gove superior protection.

Still have to be careful in how you remove it when not needed.

When you die, if you get a choice between going to regular heaven or pie heaven, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick, but if it's not, mmmmmmmm, boy.

Hello, Everyone There are many types of face masks in the market I just want to know through my post which masks is better  In the market that we can protect ourselves from the effects of this virus. Someone tell me that what precautions should I take So that I can avoid the effects of this virus.

If you do get an N95 mask, one with a vent check valve makes it easier to exhale.  They do not protect others nearly as well as a non-vented N95 mask, but they are far more easily found, and they still protect you (which was your requirement).  Cloth masks do not protect you.  If you can smell through a mask, it is not protecting you from a virus.

Vented N95 masks can be found at most hardware stores, they are often used when cutting concrete, etc.

Do be aware that there are specific requirements for some circumstances. Per TSA, if in the US, be aware of the following:

According to the CDC Order, face masks should cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly against the sides without gaps. Masks can be either manufactured or homemade and should be a solid piece of material without slits, exhalation valves, or punctures. While medical masks and N-95 respirators fulfill CDC and TSA’s requirements, face shields and/or goggles are not an acceptable substitute for the use of a mask; however, they may be used in addition to an acceptable mask.

Yep, even though a vent flap N95 is a better mask than a mere cloth mask is, the CDC recommends against them.

They also have a list of people who should be be screamed at for not wearing a mask (no one should be, but Karens have some mental disorder that forces them to be asswipes):

CDC recognizes there are specific instances when wearing a mask may not be feasible. In these instances, consider adaptations and alternatives.

The following categories of people are exempt from the requirement to wear a mask:

  • A child under the age of 2 years;
  • A person with a disability who cannot wear a mask, or cannot safely wear a mask, for reasons related to the disability;
  • A person for whom wearing a mask would create a risk to workplace health, safety, or job duty as determined by the workplace risk assessmentexternal icon.

The N95 is better for the wearer - true, but they are pretty rough on the skin for most.  The cloth mask use it to keep the N95 for medical use.

If you do not want to protect yourself, then use a cloth mask, as it protects no one.  If you want to protect everyone, use a N95 mask without a vent valve  If you only want to protect yourself, use a N95 with vent valve, regardless of the CDC saying to wear a mask that protects no one.  🙂

I'm just glad that we're all in agreement now that a mask is important. Wear the best you can, but wear one. Fortunately, it's a lot easier to get all types now.

And I hope we are all also in agreement thay shouting at people not wearing a mask, or harassing them in any way, makes the person doing the shouting an asshole who needs to just shut up and be stop being an evil person.

The bot crashed before it finished. To re-state:

So:

  • Yelling at people for not wearing a mask when they can't is selfish and sucks.
  • Not wearing a mask when out around people when you have no medical reason not to do so is selfish and sucks.
  • Not wearing a mask when out around people and attempting to disrupt a business that is trying to stay open and keep people employed is selfish and sucks.
  • Wear a mask if you can.

Good bot.

@bobstro

And there you are, the true you, a hate filled child.  You were unable to keep up your facade.

Why are you simply unable to agree that shouting at others is wrong?  Is it because you are doing it and cannot accept that it is evil to do?

What happened to you to make you so full of hate?
