US Source for Shield Material?
McMaster has a REALLY long lead time on the recommended material. I got a big sheet of some other stuff on Amazon but looking around for other options.... anyone have a good source in the US?
RE: US Source for Shield Material?
It has been suggested to use laminating film (pockets).
I think better option is crystal clear overhead projector (OHP) transparency film in 100-200 micron in A4 sheets use landscape for fixing to shield band (long portrait length for dental use not so much required here). This is also called Binding Cover protective plastic for printed reports (front and back of report cover) , or Acetate sheet.
When formed in the curve of headband the thiness no so important and rounded corners are easily cut with scissors. The shield can be disposable daily as cost per sheet is less than 15cents.

I am in the US and wondering this also. I got some acrylic "plexiglass" at home depot that is a little bit too thick that I might try to get working

Check out https://www.cfsbinds.com . I started with a chat (lower right) tab and talked to Christian and ordered 033027AACL this is 7mil binding cover crystal clear. Ships from multiple location in the US. I will update when mine arrives. Number is 1(888)237-3221 Christian also said they make larger sizes prices are good. Matched Amazon and no shipping charges but negotiate your price.
RE: US Source for Shield Material?
My little shield producing team has more .03" (.75 mm) Clear PETG than we can currently process right now. I've been selling it at cost on my Etsy shop as well as on ebay. We think we found a way to get the shipping cost down as well. (so far, shipping has been higher than I'd like.) Before you buy it from me, try your local plastic supply company. They may have something that works. If you do buy it from me I will ship it out ASAP. I really want this material to get into the hands of those that need it the most.
