RE: Selling some face shields

I have one printer and do not have lots of filament rolls or big pockets to be buying more.

I also am mainly making for family and coworkers and elderly who may be high risk.  Some are asking to buy which I would like to sell to recoup cost of filament ie.  to buy more as I cannot afford to buy filament without some kind of money.

I just want to make sure for those people that want to buy one from me, I am not breaking any creative commons license, because I am not selling because of the type of design I printed but for my time and materials.

I'm not sure selling is such a good idea at this point.  But have you considered asking for donations so you can purchase more filament to print for others.  If you are generous and provide a good service and product, often others will give you way more than what you would sell them for.

Jim

I am simply doing what a person would do when they look for a printing service.

I just want to know if this is any different than someone contacting me through the printing network to request a print and if it is different please explain because I would like to know how.

I want to make for hospitals but I cannot source the right film  so I am going with the soda bottle setup for the shield  which I think would not be compatible for hospital use.  Maybe for store employees as they are n0t working with patients but just need a guard.

Please let me know.  So I can sell to buy more filament.

Thanks for your input.

RE: Selling some face shields

@bobstro

The Face Shield god heard my cry of complaint.

I followed your link to the support site and lossened the idler screws per the instructions.  When I opened the idler I was screwing them in tight and was no leaving the screws out from the surface of the housing.  I was able to get a complete face shield printed with no clicking.

The Levelling God must heard my cry of complaint as well as I had readjusted the pinda lower (probably lower than 1 mm) and then set my live z to .225.  Well I had to lower the value to -.225.  I am not going to start printing more face shields and see if the printer continues to work with me.

Well actually there are no Face shield or levelling Gods, it just takes some patience and believing in yourself.  So many times I have learned to just walk away sleep on it and try again the next day with a clear head.  That makes all the difference.

I am so glad if the printer continues to work as it did with this print that I will not need to buy any upgrades and I will look forward to my prusa mini that I saved and paid for and on back order until June.

Thank you everyone for you help.
