1.0mm Thick PETG for Screen??
Hi all,
Has anyone tested 1.0mm thick PETG sheet for the screen? We are trying to deliver 100 face shields but are unable to source a good supply of 0.5mm PETG, just sellers on eBay and Amazon trying to make a quick buck.
I can get large sheets of 1.0mm, but have heard there can be issue with cracking. Can anyone confirm this??
Also, if we cannot use 1.0mm, can someone provide a good source of 0.5mm PETG in the UK that can supply quickly?
We have a laser cutter, so size is not a problem, just need a good reliable supplier for 100 masks worth of PETG.

Hi Mario87,
I have made 50 masks with 0.5mm PETG, with 2 sheets that have cracked near one of the holes, both repaired easily. I have so far made 37 masks with 1mm PETG, no cracks. The 1mm sheet is a bit stiffer, and you need a remix of the bottom reinforcement for 1mm sheet, but otherwise fine.
There is another bottom reinforcement solution suitable for both 0.5mm and 1mml shields, and only take 7 minutes each to print by designed by Hackbroetchen. Link is https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/27801-easy-and-fast-bottom_reinforcement-alternative . I have tested them on 0.5 and 1mm shields.

I'm using 0.8mm "PET Plastic Replacement for Picture Frame Glass" sheets; it's a little stiff but it's working great.
