RE: Storage capacity exceeded

Yup, sorry, we are working on ways to allow you to get more storage. Also, the saved images and other data eats into your available storage, so just keep that in mind.

With the newer printers, you can try switching to bgcode for more efficient storage use. Sorry about the inconvenience

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

The original USB stick that came with my MK4 died a few months back, now when I look at my PrusaConnect, it is showing 70% full, when there are only three files.

The three files are 19MB, 49MB, and 18MB.  How can I clear out my storage?

Thanks.

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

Hi, now I have the same message "Storage capacity exceeded". I have to transport my print files via USB-Stick 🙁

Do You think that all my files are also stored at prusa server and this is full? Is this necessary, Can I delete this storage?

Or are there other reasons for this?

Thanks,

Josef (sorry for my English, I'm German)

I had this twice. All the files are gone and Prusa Connect told me that the storage are full. After formatting the stick everything working fine.
@Tojik What is the reason for this behavior?

Thank you

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

Hi, we did not have separate messages for connect and printer storage being full. This is being changed, but there will still remain some paths, where the right message won't be shown properly. Sorry about the guesswork we made you do

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

This could be. But what is about my problem with the USB stick?

- suddenly I can't upload any data via Prusa Connect (storage full)
- at the printer the USB looks empty (all uploads are gone)
- at Computer the USB isn't readable
- it is nessesary to foramte the USB stick

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

This is most likely caused by the printer writing small, tiny chunks to the same block of the flash drive over and over again as it does not have enough RAM to buffer larger ones. This stresses the drives. Compound that with the relative cheapness of the stock ones and that basically is the reason. _KaszpiR_on said on Discord, he uses a SanDisk cruzer without problems. Unfortunately there's not much we can do about  failing flash drives. The only thing that comes to my mind is we could attempt to detect when the drive failed instead of showing it as empty. But that might not be feasible. So yea. Sorry about this situation

RE: Storage capacity exceeded

Ran into this the other day. Initially confused as to how I ran out of storage space on a big USB drive, I then saw the "connect" part of the error message. Went to the connect page and so no indications that the space was full in notifications. Had to search a little to find the storage quota under my user icon in the upper right. Clicked on it thinking it would take me to a place where I could manage that, and it did not. Looked around a little bit more to find Connect files which seemed to be what I was looking for. Deleted everything and was wondering what's the point of keeping the files on the cloud once they've been uploaded to the printer, if it's just going against a storage quota? The files do me no good on the cloud once they're shipped to the printer, so why do I have to clean it up?

Just seems like the user experience here could be quite a bit better.
