If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
I was printing a wall decal similar to this one:
https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/134511-tiger-wall-decor
But instead it was my new design of a bear.
I started the print, and did the first color swap just fine. For the second color swap I was distracted and left the printer waiting for approx 30 min (give or take) and I used the lcd to unload the filament and load in the new one. The print head then moved to the correct spot to continue the print but it just stayed there and did not continue. Connect stated the print was still going, on the lcd it was the same screen as if the printer was idle.
This has happened to me before as well whenever I wait too long to change the filament when a print has a filament swap.

RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Hi, I think this is fixed in the hotfix version. Just to be sure, please get a log file and throw it on here. If it doesn't fit into the 10MB limit, try zipping it. Logs are quite compressible. I'm interested in the file(s) starting in daemon. They can be gotten in the local link web under settings
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Above is the logs I was able to save. Please let me know if there is something else you would need.

Yup
Feb 21 02:31:04 PrusaLink prusa.link.__main__[447]: ERROR: timeout must be non-negative {excepthook():38}
This is fixed in the hotfix version. Also your file seems to be larger on disk than what's being reported from gcode which is inflating the log size. Did you modify the file after slicing? Can you provide the file or 3mf that output such a file? It might be a bug on my part but I have no known way to reproduce it,
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Here is the 3mf of the model I was printing, I did not edit the gcode after slicing. It went straight from prusaslicer to the printer through the network.
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
A little bit more detail if you want to graft the hotfix onto your install without flashing the whole thing again is here
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
That is helpful about not having to relay the whole thing thank you
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
I can confirm the hotfix corrects the issue. I did another filament swap print and left it on the swap filament menu on the lcd for a long time but it continued the print without issue.
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Glad to hear that, my boss heared one guy try my hotfix and said it reports 0.5.0 as the version. Awesome there's someone I can point at and say, it works for that guy 😀 Thanks for the feedback
Can I ask a somewhat related question? Has your printer ever rebooted mid print? It happened a few times in the office and I suspect it'll be hard to track down. Has it been happining with PrusaPrint too? (Octoprint on pi zero w)
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
I have not had it reboot mid print.
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Ah, sorry then, happy it "works" for you now 🙂

Hey @tojik, can you have the team pin a link to the hotfix PrusaLink Raspbian image? While some people will probably be able to find it, the documentation and instructions on the "Prusa Connect & PrusaLink updates and releases" post may have some users get confused...
Ah, sorry then, happy it "works" for you now 🙂
RE:
I tried... I sent @jan-olejnik a message on 15.2. I had the fix done before Christmas. Heck, I had it on the day of 0.6.0 release. And still. I can not get it POSTED. So I'm left telling everybody, on the forum but also internally on slack again and again and AGAIN. ("PrusaLink broke, look at logs." I go look at logs... and its this stupid f-fing bug again! Just today.) Now you come around telling me to just update it (okay, you told me to pin the question, i probably can), pretty obvious thing to do right? Can't blame you. But it just cannot be done. People at Prusa don't like hotfixes or something.
Why is the guide a PDF I also don't know. How am I supposed to add new information? Like: "Do not change you username, that breaks the automatic startup". Sure, I can edit the file, then replace it in the post, but that's just annoying and I don't know if I am allowed to do that.
Sorry for this vent/rant thing. And sure, I can just post into the updates looking all official, but that feels wrong. I wrote him, if he wanted me to do that, I hope he'd tell me
RE:
I take it back, the google drive in the guide has the new revision it seems
RE:
That’s fine. I guess if some new users look into at some of the issues other users previously reported there may be some confusion unless the file is clearly labeled: “PrusaLink 0.6.0 final use this version actually final.img” 😉
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
True, but new users will get the hotfix version so at least there's that. The guide will be a normal guide, it just isn't public yet
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
Turns out my hotfix broke a version check on the Connect side without me realizing it. This should enable/fix some connect features: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/595198/ Also boot messages are back. A bigger update is coming, this is just a temporary fix if anyone wants to give that a try 😉
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
I got an error that the hotend cooled down after a filament change, is this part of the hotfix or is this a different issue?
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
When you return to the printer and press the LCD button. It should reheat and continue. Unless the ambient temperature is very low. When you might get a mintemp error... Which will stop the print
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
RE: If you wait too long to change filament after a pause the print will not continue
It wasn't a mintemp error, and it didn't heat up on its own, I answered that the color is not correct and it showed it is loading but the hotend was cold (and the motor didn't move).
