RE: Buddy Cam Core One Wifi connection failed after update to FW 3.1.2

I noticed that the camera I have, and the replacement I was sent has a 'Hardware version' of NB.1.1.0 (screen grab attached). Can I ask please if anyone else here can have a look at the camera in their Connect app (when the camera's connected) and see if their Hardware version is the same? I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I wonder if the firmware update is only having an issue with some hardware versions? It doesn't make sense that everyone isn't complaining about this, but there is clearly something wrong.

I've checked the hardware revision of my camera, and it is also NB.1.1.0 and it is using firmware 3.1.2.

My Wifi is unifi based, using their IoT specific 2.4ghz wifi SSID. In my case, it is a hidden network and I have enabled Client Device Isolation. The Core One printer is connected to my original IoT network, the only difference being that the SSID has a space in it.

I've tested the camera several times now by powering the printer off and on, and the camera reconnects every time.

Eight character password IS THE FIX

In addition to the above, and having read through the comments here, I tried changing my WiFi password to being a multiple of eight characters (it's 16 now, and was 15). I then updated via the app and the camera is now stable and reconnects after a reboot.

I'll let the person I;ve been talking to at Prusa know, but it does seem a bit strange that they're not all aware of this problem and the 'fix'.

The password for my IoT SSIDs are 15 characters. The password is the same for both working and non-working SSIDs. The only difference between working and non-working SSID is a space character in my particular case.

SSID with reconnection failure: 12 chars (with space)
SSID that works: 11 chars (no space).

Same 15 char password for both.

Both hidden networks, but I still had reconnection failures when I made the non-working SSID visible as a test.

Based on my experience, change the password to 16 characters and your problem will be solved.

RE: Buddy Cam Core One Wifi connection failed after update to FW 3.1.2

As a test, I created a new IoT wifi network, same settings as the others almost identical to the first one with a space in the SSID (I kept the SSID the same number of characters), but I used a 16 character password - essentially just adding another character on to the existing password - and the testing was successful!

"Weyland Labs", "XenoLivesMatter": Reconnection failed.
"Testand Labs", "XenoLivesMatter1": Reconnection successful.
"WeylandLabs","XenoLivesMatter": Reconnection successful.

I figured it might be useful to post the SSIDs and passwords I tested with. These are hidden networks and chances of anybody figuring out where exactly in the world I am are very slim. :p

I'm happy to test other SSID/password combo scenarios if anybody wants, as it's easy enough to do with my setup.

Sorry.., missed your earlier post that you have it working with 15 characters! It certainly cured mine, but good to know you're sorted

Changing the password is a non-starter for me, i would then have to touch many devices to update the password.

I have NB1.0.1

Definitely 1.0.1, not 1.1.0? That sounds like it's older than the one I have
