Hello,

I am wondering whether I could use the "Buddy3D Camera for Prusa CORE One" also within my custom built enclose with MK2.5S. I really like the small design factor of the Core One Version in comparison with the normal Buddy3D Camera.

In the manual it says "There are two versions of the Buddy3D camera. While both are compatible with all the current Prusa printers, only the latter is designed for the internal installation in the CORE One." In the shop it says not compatible with MK2.5S, which confused me a bit.

I will figure out how to mount the "Buddy3D Camera for Prusa CORE One" in my enclosure on my own. Is there any software limitation (e.g. communication between camera and Core One), that my MK2.5S cannot not cover? Does Prusa Connect fully support this camera even if not used with Core One?

Hello,

I've been getting some good use out of the buddy3d camera in my core one+, but I have been having constant issues with the camera overexposing the image.

I have tried dimming the lights in the Core One down to as low as 20%, and also turning off the lights in the room the printer is in, but the auto exposure algorithm in the camera always overexposes the image. It works for seeing if there are any gross printing errors but all detail is lost on parts of the prints. I was planning on using the buddy3D camera to make time-lapses of my print jobs, but this overexposure issue completely ruins that.

Is there any way to adjust the exposure levels of the camera?

I had an issue for scanning the wifi information from the phone screen. Here's what worked for me in my case as a solution:

Tape the phone screen with a transparent matt surface tape at least for the qr code part. Overlap the tape a bit and make sure there are no significant marks or air bubbles. When the camera announces that it is scanning for qr code, bring the phone slowly from 25 cm to 10 cm towards it and it should scan the code in 10-15 cm distance.

The issue for me was with the phone screen reflections. Hope this will help someone else!

If the connection fails, there are other topics related to that how to fix those issues: Don't use special ingredients in the password or network name like #/!- or such, use the 2.4 Ghz network and double check the name for the network and password.

The printer itself connects to the extender Wifi no problem. I was able to get the camera connected using my phone as a hotspot no problem also. The extender wifi name is just letters, the password is just 12 numbers and letters. I disabled the 5Ghz band on the extender (it's a TP-link model). The extended 2.4 Ghz signal is pretty decent, i can stream videos etc. on my phone. The printer and camera downloaded the latest firmware during setup over Christmas. The error i'm getting now with the extender after i scan the QR code is just 'wifi connection failed'. Maybe there's another extender setting that is preventing a connection?

Prusa chat wasn't able to help me. Appreciate any ideas on what to try next.
