Camera disconnecting from Unifi WIFI and refusing to reconnect

I have an IoT dedicated 2.4GHz SSID for all my IoT devices (>150). This SSID is setup to be as compatible as possible with all IoT devices, and other than a Sonos One, the Prusa Camera (the internal one) is the only device that struggles to stay connected. All the networking gear is UNIFI and I run the latest firmware. There are 5 APs, with one of them being within 3m of the Prusa Core One+ printer and camera.

The only way I have found to reconnect the camera is to connect my phone to the IoT SSID and show the camera a new QR code. This is getting annoying and I wonder what, if any, setting might be causing this issue... or whether this is a device issue (more likely since it is the only device having issues).

I see in the Prusa Connect web application the ability to decrease the speaker volume in the camera, but the lowest value is 5%.

I find the announcement "wi-fi connection successful" every ten minutes quite annoying.

How can the speaker be completely disabled?

Buddy Camera not visible on App only on Browser

Setup: Prusa XL + Buddy Camera

Prusa Connect iOS: v1.13.13+297

Buddy Camera pairs successfully and works normally in Prusa Connect Web (desktop)

However, the camera never appears in the Prusa Connect iOS app. The app continues to show “No camera added / Add camera” even though the camera is already paired and active. This happens even when the QR pairing is initiated from the iOS app.

I’ve Tried:

-Verified same Prusa account on web + mobile

App logout/login, force close, reinstall

iPhone restart

Printer & camera power cycles

Latest printer firmware

Camera + printer on same network

Removed and re-added camera iOS Local

Network permission toggled

Web UI consistently shows the correct state; issue appears iOS app–specific (likely caching or XL camera sync).

Is this a known issue, and is there an ETA or workaround?

I have 2 other buddy cameras on my cores ones that work well on app or browser. Just my XL that isn’t working.

Camera Buddy stopped working after recent update

Hey guys.

Our camera was working inside of our Prusa Core One until last night.

Now the camera keeps saying it fails to connect to WiFi. We reset the printer a few times thinking that would solve it but it continues to fail. We removed the camera and are now trying to reinstall/re-add it.

Has anyone else run into this? And does anyone have a solution?

My camera Uploads 30GB per month to prusa connect. Even when the printer is off and I don't have the app/website open. Is that expected?

MK4s with prusa enclosure and Buddy3D camera. The printer is off most of the time and the camera has a separate USB power supply.

Cam inside XL-enclosure possible even with in high temperature?

Core One camera angle

Hey!

My Core One camera - the triangular one - works fine. It is however tilted just a little bit low. I have reseated it again and again, it always seems to settle into the exact same spot. 😀

Do you know of good ways to tilt the camera up some degrees?

Buddy3D camera in B/W

I've just installed Buddy3D camera to my Core One successfully. Well, as long as the magnets hold which I have little confidence in!

But ... image is b/w only. I know there's something written about an update to colour in new f/w sometime, BUT the first image after powering on the Core One comes through in colour, and subsequent ones in b/w. So mabe the f/w is partly fixed ?? FWIW my camera f/w is 3.1.0. Any suggestions ?

Hello,

I stopped counting the many tries and failures turning on the camera, press the reset button, scan the QR code, reset the camera by pressing the button longer than four seconds and so on. (Btw, I found this manual: Buddy3D Camera by Niceboy Guardian PR1, but did not find a solution).

Reading many posts, I learned that non-letter and non-digit characters in the Wifi password are bad. For the camera. Not for security … Actually, I do not want to change my password, also because of many, many devices that are connected to my WLAN.

In hope for a solution about non-letter characters in Wifi passwords, I searched for and found a link to the firmware 3.1.0 (m https://connect-ota.prusa3d.com/file/cam-3.1.0.tar (sha1 ddd77001652379c4bffed1d409b6449148caa4b8), downloaded and saved it to my SD card. Eventually the camera told me that the firmware has been updated.

Now, the camera still says "Start scanning QR code" and "Stop scanning QR code" and keep flashing the green light. No further information, no data, no connection, nothing. I have to admit that I start to hate this &$%#@! device. And there is no support that can solve the mess.

I cannot believe that it is that complicated for a software and driver developer to implement a suitable solution and provide support for special characters in SSIDs and passwords.

When will a solution be available? And I also like an official download link for the firmware of the Buddy3D.

I wonder if I just mounted the Buddycam somehow wrong - for one it seems quite loose - only needs a slight touch to fall off. Also the camera angle seems wrong as it doesn't cover the actual printing area. While it covers the build space to the bottom I would rather want to see the full X/Y print area.
