Y Axis Failure During Print
After assembly and calibration and all settings done. I went to make my first print. Tried to print the benchy on the provided SD card. The print got into 60% complete and then the extruder lifted off the print moved around and then settled back down to continue, but was off on the print. I tried another one with different filament, but the same thing happened right at the same mark. Tried printing the tree frog with same result at the 60% mark. Reclaibrated everything and tried the tree frog again from a different file on a different SD card and the same result. Right about 60% complete. Every time it shows a Y axis fault, but the bed appears to be moving fine. I tried to tighten up the belt some, but that just seems to have made the problem worse. Not really sure where to go at this point. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas on what to try.
RE: Y Axis Failure During Print
I think I have this same issue - Significant Y Axis Layer shift at certain Z heights and no idea why. I’ve been able to print Benchys and XYZ Calibration Cubes just fine but when I go to print anything taller I run into this issue. Any luck getting it resolved on your end yet?
RE: Y Axis Failure During Print
I had the same issue, for me it was a loose Y-axis gear and a loose Y-belt. I just tighten both (aligned one screw on the gear with the flat part of the stepper motor shaft) and everything was fine again.
