Stringing with 0.8mm nozzle

Hi,

Wondering is anyone can help with the bad stringing I'm getting using the 0.8mm nozzle. I've attached a photo - it looks worst than it is and once completed the strings come away easily but I'm sure I can do better.

I tried changing the filament tempurature plus/minus a couple of degrees. I've tried changing the retraction settings from 2.8 to 2.9 and 2.7 but no difference.

Any ideas?

When you changed out the 0.4mm nozzle for the 0.8mm did you change the retraction rate?  I would expect you'd have to retract it more for a larger nozzle.  This page gives some suggestions on how to change retraction for different sized nozzles: https://3dprinterly.com/9-ways-how-to-3d-print-with-a-larger-nozzle/#9-calibrate-your-retraction-settings

I'm using the prusa mini+ with input slicing profile so I assume it adds the right retraction setting? Maybe I'm wrong? But yeah I can try retracting some more, just not sure how much.

Another likely culprit is damp filament.

I note that you said your filament is new, but that's no guarantee of dryness. Try drying it for a few hours - this article has a decent breakdown of how to and options https://all3dp.com/2/how-to-dry-filament-pla-abs-and-nylon/
