Some blobbing happening with prints.

So I got my mini a couple months ago and so far been pretty good, but once in a while I get some odd issues.

Like in some of hte pictures I've attahced I get some blobs occuring. Also when calibrating the first later the initial extrusion is kind of thing and heavy before it smooths out.

Is there something I can adjust or look at to see what causes this ? Also does the first layer look correct ?

RE: Some blobbing happening with prints.

The blobs on the calibration are normal. The blob on your print looks like either some plastic was stuck on you extruder before it started creating the perimeter or something went wrong with your slicing. It happened to me one time too but after reslicing the project it was fixed.

Are you using any custom gcode? One more thing to check is that in normal operation the temp drops to 170C in order to stop the dripping so maybe you need to check that when the printer prepares to autocalibrate before each print your temp is as it should at 170C.
