Serious Problems with Prusament PLA Pearl Blue after several hours
Hi,
in enjoyed printing with my Prusa Mini since I received it in January. Mainly using Prusament galaxy black and silver. Also Prusament PETG worked great. Then I switched to Pearl Blue (a filament that is produced for Prusa) and run into strong problems. After about 2 hours of a 4 hour print the Mini was printing in air. Unfortunately I realized this very late in the process. It was not possible to release the filament. I had to disassemble the extruder.
I followed the instructions to clean the hot end. I cleaned the extruder. Then I had the strong klicking noise again and no filament at the nozzle. Even the first layer calibration was not running through. Then I cleaned everything again and switched to the Prusament galaxy black. Suddenly everything was as smooth as it used to be. Anyone having a similar experience ? I recognized that the galaxy black PLA filament is a little bit rough. Perhaps this helps the extruder not to loose track. The pearl blue is much smoother. No I am a little bit afraid to try pearl blue again. Should I contact the support ? Or do I need to print at a higher temperature that 215c ? In the image below you can seen the filament being ground and stuck completely in the extruder. I am sure that I did not increase the pressure.
also an image of the lagging first layer calibration
best regards
Ralf

This is a partial jam. Do a cold pull and post an image. A lot of folks have replaced their heat sink or adjusted the position.

RE: Serious Problems with Prusament PLA Pearl Blue after several hours
I have had similar issues with Fillament Extrafill Crystal Clear Iceland Blue PLA.(working range 210-230) I have tried several different remedies to fix this issue to no avail. I have cleaned the Nozzle (Including doing a cold pull) and still nothing works. Out of Curiosity I even reloaded with Prusament Jet Black PLA immediately and printed with no issues... I am suspecting that this particular batch of the Fillamentum PLA is defective as I have also printed with a different Fillamentum PLA with no trouble either. Unfortunately, with no one nearby to run the suspect Filament through a different printer, I have no way to know for sure... Sucks that I am possibly out $25 US due to this possibility... Fillamentum Extrafill Purple RED and Traffic White have worked as well. I have also used Prusament PETG Transparent Violet with no trouble. Any thoughts?

You might have the extruder idler screwed too tight.
Cheerio,
