PRUSA MINI Extruder
Dear Friends,
I just baught my first 3D printer, a PRUSA Mini. I assembled all the parts, did all the self tests and wanted to load the PLA filament in the Extruder. The filament could never enter the extruder although I tryed to push it in. I did 10 times the load and unload program, opened the little flap door on top and saw the gearing working, but the filament is somehow blocked, not able to enter the Extruder. I wanted to know if someone had the same issue before I start to take it appart.
Thanks
Daniel
RE: PRUSA MINI Extruder
Okay, but we need to know what you have on your Mini - do you have filament sensor installed (that is sold separately)?
Did you cut filament 45 degree before insert in?
How far in does your filament reach? 'Load' it and mark it at the point where it enters then unload and offer it up against the outside to see where the block is.
Cheerio,

i have the sensor. the filament enters 3 cm into the extruder then it is blocked from further entering.
So hold the filament against the outside of the extruder, follow the path and you now know exactly where to look for the issue ...

Did you cut the filament at a 45 degree angle?
Is the idler screw too tight?
Short of that, all I can think of is some misalignment in the build.

RE: PRUSA MINI Extruder
Hello,
yes i did
RE: PRUSA MINI Extruder
If you did those suggestion above, then try to take extruder area apart and re-assemble it (be sure to follow instruction carefully). But don't over tight screws - tighten it a little bit. That I would do if I was in same situation as you are. 🤫
RE: PRUSA MINI Extruder
Thank you
yes that is my next step
thanks
