RE: PLA not sticking, filament super thin
This is my first time using and putting together 3d printer. I am doing the first calibration test and it starts out with the coiled filament and then the filament gets super thin and it wont stick to the bed. I cleaned the bed with alcohol wipe but no luck. When I move the knob to adjust the nozzle height the filament starts to bunch up under the nozzle creating a big ball of mess. It is the PLA that comes with the prusa mk3. Any help what to do next? Thank you.

RE: PLA not sticking, filament super thin
Your nozzle is too high from the bed. Run First Layer Calibration Wizard again, and go lower, much lower than you think should be enough, until the filament gets squished into texture. Especially when you print on textured sheet, this one is a b*tch for PLA to stick. Smooth sheet is better for PLA and textured sheet is good for PETG.
Give textured sheet thorough rub with dish soap (don't use your regular dish sponge, rather brand new brush if you wish), let it dry thoroughly i.e. on heatbed and never touch the print surface with fingers.

Dishsoap helped a lot and you are right, the nozzle was way too high. Now it's printing fine. Thank you! Thought I was close to the bed but nope, way far up. I will look into the different bed as well. Thank you!
