Nozzla height to high/low

Hi,

I'm having trouble figuring out the correct height for the nozzle.

Here's a print sample:

The sides of the whistle (with the JP sign on it) are extremely thin and don't adhere. So probably the nozzle height is set to high?

Here's another print sample with the nozzle set quite a bit lower:

Obviously the nozzle height is also not correct on this print, but is it to low or still to high?

I also printed the calibration strip for simple live Z/first layer calibration and live adjusted the z height during print

As you can see, starting from the lower right corner my guess is that the z-axis was set to high. During the print I gradually lowered the z-axis. The top left corner of this calibration looked ok, but it resulted in the print with the gaps in between (2nd picture of the flute in this post).

So, basically I'm a bit stuck with finding the correct calibration. This is not my first try, I'm actually stuck in a loop. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Elbastino

RE: Nozzla height to high/low

Your bottom image and the description of z-height adjust the right path to take to set  your nozzle height offset.  The upper left corner looks pretty good.

This will aid in bed adhesion and first layer appearance, but will not correct the layer adhesion issue demonstrated in you second image.

This is more likely due to filament temperature, excessive part cooling, excessive print speed, or  filament moisture content.  You didn't mention what filament type your using, but I would experiment with those settings.
