Mini electronics housing arrived cracked.
I thought I'd post this as an FYI for future product improvement. The electronics housing sidewall on my Prusa Mini arrived cracked from shipping or during factory assembly. Its the side that mounts up against the Y-axis extrusion so I just super glued it rather than reprinting a new case. It can't be seen once assembled and doesn't appear to be a structural location.
The sidewalls are pretty thin so the STL part might benefit from some design tweaks or thicker walls. Anyone else find this on their new Mini?
On the plus side I haven't had any extrusion or thermistor issues and print quality has been great on the new Mini so I'll take it 🙂
RE: Mini electronics housing arrived cracked.
there are several cases, including myselfe, with this cracked housing. most of them are in the "unofficial prusa waiting thread" in this forum.

Contact the support (I recommend the chat). You will either get a replacement part or a voucher for a roll of filament (as far as I know).
RE: Mini electronics housing arrived cracked.
voucher? i only gotten option for shipping me a new part, useles, because it would take 3 weeks ore more during winter holidays. allready replaced it with a new printed one.
not fair someone gets a voucher, someone not.

Maybe reinforcing walls with some beams to create less homogeneous structure than wall of layered plastic? Or adjust packaging a bit, it may be as small as cutting extra piece of cardboard, something has to be there that pushes against that enclosure.

i would preciate and waiting for it that somebody will redisign this thing. and attach a raspberrypi casing towards the front of the printer, to not enlarge the foodprint.
i'm not good enought in CAD to do this.

Mine was broken too on arrival - exactly the same place... Must be a weak point in the design.
Contacted support on chat and printed a replacement from left over filament from the Prusa MK upgrade. Got compensation as shipping the replacement part would take too long.
Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

Adding a me-too to this thread. The printer arrived Thursday and I've got a replacement on its way now. No offer of filament 🙂 I ended up printing a replacement so I'm not held up trying to put this together.

@david-k54
Was that the original design or is yours updated to a newer version?

D'oh! I just threw out the old part. I believe it was F2.

Just fished it out of the trash. Yes, it was F2.

Thank you. I was just curious if the part had been made stronger and still brakes in shipment...

So is F2 an older version, or the current one ?

The part I printed is R2 so I assume F2 is the current one. Interestingly, the RMA part arrived yesterday and it's F1 so it looks like they're shipping old stock.
