First print shifted and warped bottom

Okay so I got my machine up and running and tried my first prints, and had issues with it. I downloaded the file from Printables and in Prusaslicer everything looked good and it showed no errors. However when I printed it, 2 things happened; first thing I noticed was that the layers shifted at some point and then shifted back (see photos), and secondly, the bottom bowed up and made it curved and pulled the steel sheet as well. It was a 12+ hour print so when I went to bed and it was at about 20% everything looked right, but when I got up in the morning it had happened so I'm not sure when it's happening. Before I waste more time and materials on it I'd like to figure out what happened. If it matters, it was outside in my garage overnight (mid 30's) which I thought would explain the shrinkage but wouldn't explain the layer shifting so I'm not sure that's relevant. Any thoughts on what would cause this and what to do about it?

I also added the part file in case anyone wants to look at it and see if they see anything I'm overlooking.

Have you got two build plates on there at the same time/

Holy shit, I might be the dumbest person you've ever heard from. Evidently I do. I couldn't figure out why the plate was shifting so I taped it down on the edges. I didn't realize they were doubled up and it was held down magnetically. Damn I'm dumb. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll try it again and see how it goes. Not sure that will have anything to do with the layer shift but I can definitely see it being colder on the plate and allowing it to cause the issue on the bottom! Thanks for the eye on it!

Check your Y axis Grub Screws, Did you lubricate the linear bearings and smooth rods? the Y axis

30C or 30F?

Also any kind of warping can cause bed to warp (especially if you have a vert good adhesion) and thus print head can hit the model, which may r sult in model detaching from bed or whole bed to move.

Stable room temperature and no drafts is recommended.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

I have not. What's the grub screw adjustment? I need to figure out what I can lube with that I can buy locally instead of waiting for special lube to ship from England (if anyone has any suggestions I'm happy to hear them).

Sorry, it was about 34 F overnight. However it was in a closed garage, no drafts or gusts or temperature swings or anything.

I begin to see a pattern with people printing in garages and outhouse workshops experiencing warping.  Warping is much worse at low temperatures or in drafts.

You have some poor adhesion, a very clean print-sheet (just one) should improve matters, also re-run your first layer offset calibration.

The layer shifting probably occurred when the print warped up into the path of the print head causing a collision but also follow @joantabb's suggestions.

Cheerio,

Cheerio,

Ya I was wondering if it had something to do with being cold and the filament cooling off too fast and shrinking up or something. I tried to re run it before I left for work and when I try to do the first layer cal I'm getting a thermistor error again. I wonder if that's related to the cold temps as well. I just looked in the manual and it says it should be 18c -38c (65f to 100f) so I wonder if that's why I'm getting the error as well. I guess I'll have to bring her inside and try again, I just don't want the smell in the house...

Smell?  If you are printing ABS then even domestic room temperatures are too low.

Try inverting a large cardboard box over the printer to act as a temporary enclosure, it may be enogh to allow some cold-weather printing, if so a proper enclosure would be worth trying.

Cheerio,
