First layer / callibration issues

Hi, total rookie here - first printer, first print.

I have the mini+, Latest firmware. Assembled it over the course of a couple of days… took my time.

Everything (self test) checked out, but when I do the first print it just feels like the print head is too far away from the board (see photos). Results are not very good.

I tried calibration and even with Z adjusted (all the way to -2) it doesn’t feel like it’s working out any better.

I did do the physical calibration during assembly (superPINDA sensor height adjustment … with the zip tie)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!! I am eager to start printing.

RE: First layer / callibration issues

I'm bumping this because I have a similar issue (though mine is not as pronounced).

I've been printing fine until I swapped nozzles and bed surfaces. Previously I was all stock, but changing both of those is causing first layer issues. Running first layer calibration, I'm also maxed at -2.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi

I suggest you to check/adjust SuperPinda height following this procedure -> https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/7-preflight-check_204705

Cheers

If you can't get as low as you need, the PINDA is mounted too low, you need to adjust it to a higher mounting position, this way the nozzle will stop at a lower position when PINDA triggers.

In the OP's last picture you can see the nozzle still being almost 5 mm over the bed, that's way to high. Adjust PINDA about 5-6 mm up, rerun the first layer calibration (starting with 0 !!)

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!

Good morning,I had a couple issues that I had to address - namely XZ axis correction: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/squaring-your-mini_158518#xz-axis-correction

I am able to print now!!!

Thanks again for everyone’s help.
