Extrusion start inconsistent or delayed

I had no problems with my Mini+ for months, then it started to do this.

After a longer travel or retractions it is not extruding filament right away creating a gap, just a little bit later and sometimes it leaves a blob.

It happens with PETG (first pic) and PLA (second pic) as well. I use Prusament with PrusaSlicer default settings.

I'm pretty desperate, at this point I think I tried everything but the problem still persists.

What I tried:

  • Cleaned the extruder gears
  • Set the extruder idler tension (tried to loosen and tighten it as well, it has no effect to this problem in my case)
  • Replaced the hotend PTFE tube
  • Replaced the nozzle
  • Disconnected the filament sensor to be sure there is no unnecessary stress on the filament
  • Tried to contact Prusa Support, they suggested the idler screw tension stuff

All of my filaments sitting in a drybox with ~32% humidity until I print with them, then I put them back. I clean my sheets with 99% IPA before almost every print.

Please help me!

Thanks for reading!

That first picture has the look of damp filament...

a drybox with ~32% humidity

A drybox is fine for protecting filament from excess humidity but it's not enough to dry filament once it is damp...

The second picture shows a dirty print bed.

Cean the sheet with dishwashing detergent (Dawn/Fairy) and plenty of HOT water, rinse well and dry with a fresh paper towel. Handle by the edges only.

Cheerio,

Thanks for your answer, I will try that. However I don't really have bed adhesion problems (I think).

The extrusion itself seems to start much later than it should. I marked it better on the picture. You can see the red arrow where it should start based on the sliced model and the orange arrow where it starts in real.

It's not adhering at the limits of travel, some is being retained on the nozzle from where it can blob later.  This filament is probably damp too, just not as obviously.  Your print-bed is visibly smeared.
