RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
I can report back but @amd20x6 mentioned that the firmware isn't ready yet so i guess with the current firmware it will at first just work as the old one?
I only asked support if the installation changed but they said it is the same as v1.
BTW, the Prusa shop is updating right now, so maybe they adding there also?
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
Yep, it is in the shop now and is called SuperPINDA. They also removed the MINDA probe. And there is a also new MINI+ version printer.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
If the sensor is warmer, you have to go lower. Start print always after the printer cools down. I recommend to leave the extruder higher above the bed for the warming up period. But important is always in the same height. This way you will remove the temperature from the leveling equation.

@wybielacz1
Thanks for the info. I answered to my old prusa support request. Maybe Prusa is kind enough to send me the new SuperPINDA to test it out 😂
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@simon-10
I think that the "SuperPINDA" could work with the firmware 4.3.x But I am curious how great the result will look like. I don't know the difference between super and normal. I assume that it is a higher quality Minda sensor.
If you have tested the new sensor, everyone would be glad to receive feedback 👍

RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@karl-herbert
FW 4.3.x?? I though the latest and greatest is 4.2.1?!
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
Since there is a 26€+Shipping Upgrade Kit to Mini+with only the SuperPinda in it i think its clear that the new Sensor will not come free of charge for longterm users.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
Lots of speculation here.
There is a new blog post which lays everything out: https://blog.prusaprinters.org/november2020_update_original_prusa_i3_mk3splus_miniplus_mini_kit_satin_steel_sheet_40870/
Also a welcome addition is the Mini+ as a kit! Wish it was available last year as a kit

The Mini+ is a joke....They are selling a fix for a design fault as a feature.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@simon-10
As I understand it, the regular Mini will no longer be sold. The Plus will replace it, however cost slightly more. Which makes sense to me.

RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@benji
Yes and the only difference is the now working Probe..
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
So will the SuperPINDA work on an older Mini?
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@simon-10
They are also changing the way the bed is fixed to the smooth rods. They're also passing on increased costs from their supply chain, I suspect the margin on the mini wasn't enough to be able to absorb all the costs. I suspect there would have been a price increase for the Mini even if they weren't introducing the Mini+.
The fact they are charging for the new probe is going to be a topic of discussion for a while! Personally I've got no issues with the current set up and not had to adjust my live z for months, but I know others are having very real problems and it does seem unfair people have to pay ~£25 to get a functional printer.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
Yes some new clips will be shipping with the new MINI+ but they are not going to be part of the "upgrade" kit. On the kit only the SPINDA is included. I am eager to see how the clips function when they release the drawings even though they say its just for ease of assembly.
As I wrote in another thread I find the sensor introduction really wrong and as you said many will find it difficult to spend another 30 something euros just to have a properly and as advertised machine. And lets not forget about people who already gave their money for 3rd party upgrades like the heatbreak who on top of that will give more money to have just a functioning machine. I don't understand how support can just send MINDAs to customers with first layer problems but now all of a sudden the SPINDA is just an upgrade and not a replacement of a faulty part.
I understand that all the tweaking and upgrading is an enjoying part for the community and I enjoy it too, but at the same time not being able to accept your design flaws and presenting something as an upgrade is something else.

@3dprintedgr
There was a comment on the related GitHub issue that people experiencing the issue should get in touch with support to get a SPINDA, no mention of charging.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@gordon-w
So, I have an open case with support where we talked about minda problems. I think the professional thing to do is to contact customers proactively and at least inform on the forums and the blog, not a separate GH issue on a lost comment.
Not saying is your fault Gordon, you at least informed us about the comment on GH.
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@danielo
Can't say i disagree 😀 It may come out as a more official statement in the next few days, communication has never been one of Prusa's strong points. I suppose If they made it part of the announcement I imagine there would be lots of people requesting one even if they didn't need one and the people who are having problems would have to wait longer!

Its called marketing 😉
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
As PRUSA already stated MINI has a non-temperature compensated MINDA probe which is NOT a design fault/bug but a feature by design! So, NO! according to this way of thinking the MINI+ is a completely new product with SPINDA as a brand new feature that will cure all the mesh leveling problems. And for this remedy they ask a humble amount of extra money. Having no SPINDA stock at present moment shows that this extra amount is really a very small one. 😎
RE: Brand new prusa mini: Z needs to adjust on every new print.
@prusatester2020
Sorry thats bullshit!
If the Mini had no Probe (manuell level), the Z hight would be far more consistent! Many parts on a 3D printer changes temperature during print. So why using a probe thats change value on temperature?? That make no sense.
