Benchy Watermark On New Prints

Hi all!

I printed the benchy and confirmed that the print looked good on the Prusa Discord. Now when I am printing new projects I can see the benchy outline on the bottom of the new prints where there benchy was first printed several times. Have I ruined the bed sheet? It came with the standard steel sheet. I can see some other prints as well, but nothing as major as the first benchy prints. I can provide pictures if it would help illustrate better.

Thank you!

Sounds like you got your z-offset a little too low.  Do a first layer calibration and show us 2 photos, one of the whole bed and a cloesup of the little rectangle at the end.

Cheers

Turned on flash so that it could have better lighting. Attached are the two I took. Can run again and take another picture if necessary.

From the width of the long lines it looks like you're too low.  The glare on the rectangle makes it difficult to tell if there are ridges there, if there are bring it up until those are gone.  A proper first layer has no gaps and no ridges in the little rectangle.

RE:

Will try to look at the calibration again this weekend and post updated pictures.

I hope it hasn’t hurt the extruder or bed!

Looks like -1.375 to -1.420 (? writing is a bit illegible there) is where you want to be.

Looks like you read it right. I don't have the best handwriting, for sure!

What's up with the edges where the print takes turns? Are they supposed to be slightly raised like that?

Thanks for your reply, btw!

You're creating a lot of work for yourself.  I find increments no smaller the 0.025 to be too fine.
